John Russell Dekker (born 24 March 1971) is a retired Australian rower.

Rowing career
Dekker represented Australia at two Olympic Games in the men’s lightweight coxless four. He also was a notable member of the Australian men’s lightweight eight which won the bronze medal at the 2002 World Championships. The team was coached by John Sheringham and steered by Ian Rintoul. Dekker was a member of the Australian eight which won the gold medal at the 1995 World Rowing Championships. This eight would win the men’s lightweight eight title in 1994 and 1995, and in 1996 and 1997.

Coaching career
In December 2003, Dekker was appointed head coach of the Australian men’s lightweight eight and the Australian men’s quadruple sculls. In November 2005 he coached the Australian men’s lightweight four who broke the world record.
